The E61i received a long overdue firmware update recently, bumping the mobile to v3.0633.69.00. Users report speed enhancements and several bug fixes, however FL3 was not included. Full changelog below, take a look for yourself before firing up NSU. Personally, I am glad to see this recent string of firmware updates, especially on slightly older devices. Gives me hope that Nokia won't just abandon users with aged devices.

If the FCC approval of the E66 didn’t do much for you, hopefully Boy Genius’s review of the E71 will do the trick. He posted a nice little gallery of the latest E series device yesterday and a review of the device today. The verdict -absolutely amazing.
It takes a lot to get us excited but the E71 has done it. This thing, in our opinion, is the best phone Nokia has made to date.
This thing truly is a gem, which is discussed completely within the review. There are a few reasons to get excited about this mobile, even if you aren’t a huge E series lover. First off, full QWERTY. Don’t hate on the keyboard either, as T9 gets old for all of us. The keyboard on the E71 has white backlighting and is notable smaller than the E61’s. Right above this is the select key, this time with a notification light around it. Triggered by a missed event, the middle key will glow white to alert the user. The E71 also ships with a 1500mAh battery, which served well under heavy usage. BGR reported having 2 bars after hammering away on the device for a full day. Also packed in this little beauty is Bluetooth 2.0, Wifi (a,b,g), GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. And while BGR’s model didn’t support US 3G, we can still keep our fingers crossed that a NAM version is still in the works. Let’s hope AT&T doesn’t brand the shit out of it.

It what may upset those in North America, the FCC recently approved an E66 without NA 3G band support. The E66, successor to the E65, is expected to come with S60 3rd Edition FP1 (no official word on FP2), GPS, 3.2 MP camera, and bluetooth and cost about $550 USD. Given the FCC go ahead, I would assume we could see this phone in the coming weeks. For those North American users, you may have better luck waiting for the E71 if 3G and a QWERTY is a must. Specs below, along with a link to the official FCC approval.
Expected Release: Q2 2008
Estimated Price: $550 USD
Specifications
• Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
• 3G/3.6 HSDPA
• Slider form factor
• QVGA 2.4” portrait color display
• 3.2 Megapixel camera
• GPS
• Bluetooth
• Wifi
UPDATE: North American friendly E66 approved by the FCC here!

After the initial tease we saw a few weeks ago, the new E90 firmware is finally official. The firmware, labeled v210.34.75, brings some application enhancements and bug fixes; along with Flash Lite 3 support. Also included in the update was web runtime support, internet telephony icon added to standby screen, and a bump in the Quickoffice version to 4.1.27.5. No official changelog is present; however there does not appear to be any changes regarding UDP or geotaggging. It also appears the Today bug in the calendar is fixed, along with overall speed improvements.
For those of you using Vista, be cautious when using Nokia Software Updater. While NSU will run in compatibility mode, users (myself included) had issues once the phone reboots to start the update. Avoid Vista for updating if possible, or at least until a new version of NSU is available.

Ya, we heard about it a few weeks ago, but this time it looks a bit more official. While everyone was busy at Mobile World Congress, enjoying the recently announced N series; Nokia silently dropped some info on the E71 -the presumed successor to the E61. In a "secret" meeting held in Syndey, Australia, Nokia showcased a comparison of E series devices to a select few; CNET included. Personally, I am loving the black finish -not to mentioned whats inside. Nothing is confirmed at this stage, however the E71 is expected to house a 3.2 Megapixel camera, Wifi, Bluetooth, HSDPA, along with on-board GPS. All this in a smaller body than the E61? Yes, please.
No official release date is known, however I would bet we see something at CeBIT or CITA. It appears Nokia didn't let everything out at MWC, as we are also waiting on the rumored E65 update as well.
