Nokia E61i Firmware updated to 3.0633.69.00

The E61i received a long overdue firmware update recently, bumping the mobile to v3.0633.69.00. Users report speed enhancements and several bug fixes, however FL3 was not included. Full changelog below, take a look for yourself before firing up NSU. Personally, I am glad to see this recent string of firmware updates, especially on slightly older devices. Gives me hope that Nokia won't just abandon users with aged devices.

Messaging
    * Reading of SMS time stamp information unified between regions
    * SMS sending from SIM Toolkit - Profile 07 improved
    * Unicode Handling with Turkish characters corrected
    * Correction to fetching email from freemail server
    * Intellisync: Slowness of searching a contact for the first time corrected

Others
    * Operator name list updated
    * Start-up settings updated
    * Settings Wizard updated
    * Start-up date changed to 1.1.2008
    * Correction of DRMClock behaviour with NITZObserver with negative time zone values

SIM
    * After the startup, the phone recognizes the language to use from the SIM card
    * SMSC is re-read from SIM after switch on
VOIP
    * Improvement of co-operation of Gizmo VoIP client and Internet voice mailbox
    * SIP Proxy Authentication corrected in outgoing call if two SIP profiles with same realm and user name
WAP
    * Correction of Chinese word corruption with WAP browser
    * Searching in Hebrew from portal corrected
    * Wap GET/POST forms corrected when using Greek characters
    * Reset during WAP browsing and MT calls corrected

Dont upgrade if you...

Hello ,

Dont upgrade to this firmware if you are using blackberry connect. Because this release makes your phone drain battery within 24 hours max. When you turn off blackberry service on E61i then it works great and almost 5 days run.

I'm keen to upgrade straight from 1.0633 on my E61i to 3.0633.69.00, given adverse comments about version 2.x, but doing the process now (25 Sep 0 smilies/cool.gif
