My mate Sp00k from N95users.com forums has tipped me off about a promotion going on right now for N-Gage. Apparently if you install the N-Gage application on your compatible Nokia handset, you will get the full retail version of the EA Sports football franchise game FIFA '08. They've limited the give-away to the first 20,000 registrants with an ending date of June 30th, 2008- so get over there right now and take advantage of this offer!
An eagle-eyed member of the Mobile-Review forums has spotted a press page for an upcoming event in London on April 22nd. They're having a live webcast at 11:30am GMT, which can be viewed on demand shortly after the event.
So what would the topic of the event be? Some are speculating that a device will be announced- which seems unlikely as the CEO has just stated that there will be no major products shipped during the second quarter. Though, I suppose that doesn't leave out the possibility of an announcement with an actual launch in Q3. Good news is that we're told to expect "a lot of devices" announced in the second half of 2008.
Much more likely is the launch of a service such as "Comes with Music" to coincide with the opening of the Nokia Music Store in Australia with it's subscription service.
Either way, it's an event to keep an eye out for next week. More details will be posted closer to the event.
Expected in the morning tomorrow is the official launch of WOM World's new site. Some readers may have noticed that Nseries WOM World, the Nokia sponsored word of mouth megasite, is having a bit of downtime. Fear not, WOM will be back and looking great in the morning. Pop over there for a peek at the site's brilliant new look. If you've never been to WOMworld.com, you'll not appreciate the new look- but if you are a Nokia fan (and I must nearly assume that you are, as a reader of NokiaUsers) no doubt you'll appreciate the site. The WOM World crew work day and night to bring you the latest word from all over the global Nokia and mobile blogosphere, accounting all sorts of news related to our favorite brand. It's well worth a look for those not familiar. Regular readers should also stop by to have a look at the new design- with good news for the business device fans. WOM World has added the Eseries product line to their search for news, reviews and other word of mouth material. There are now pages for the E90, E51, E61i and E65 at the site, and word is that E51 and E65 devices are being delivered to eager reviewers, so expect to see much more on those devices soon! With the impending announcement of several great looking Eseries devices- this is certainly a welcomed addition to the WOM World for me.
Fantastic work over there, everyone!
Edit- looks like this is being discussed all over the net today- with the most exciting change decidedly the addition of Eseries products. Commenters at AllAboutSymbian.com are speculating that the timing has something to do with the annoucement of the E71. I certainly hope so- I'm quite eager to get a look at it!
Ricky, the Symbian-Guru just hit me up to let me know that Ngage 2.0 has just launched, stealth like- under the radar. Good thing he dropped me a line- as I certainly missed the unannounced event. No doubt that Nokia is looking for a soft launch here as they test the waters with a massive existing user base for this newly revamped and relaunched service. ;)
It's out now for the N95, N95 8GB and N82 now- no doubt more devices to join the list shortly, namely the N73 that has seen recent software updates in effort to make the device compatible with NGage. I'm off to install it now myself, with impressions to follow...
Today is the day that Stavros, master of Position Art, creates the world's greatest art- ever. He's in Rome, right now, blogging a live feed of his progress on the piece with his N82. Pop over to his "Bloggy" and check some of the videos he's uploading while he documents his journey through Rome.
