If you have recently pre-ordered your N97, you would of also registered for the N97 members Club, which offers all the latest news, related to the N97 device, and competitions too, however, in the email I received this morning however, titled "It’s Amazing What You Can Do With The Nokia N97" mentioned something that has a sting in its tale.
The OVI Store Country availability. The only Countries listed, that will have access to the OVI Store, are, Australia, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States.
My understanding of OVI Store, is that it would replace the already pre-installed "Download" found on many of Nokia's handsets, and "Download" would automatically replace itself upon launching it when the OVI Store was open.
I really hope this is not the final Country list, and just the initial rollout of OVI Store availability.

Welcome to the second exclusive news update from the Nokia N97 Members Club. In this edition we’ll be reviewing a recent Nokia N97 competition which highlighted some of the awesome things you can do with the new flagship Nokia Nseries device. We’ll also be giving away some 8GB memory cards to a few lucky members of the club – so keep an eye out on your inbox to see if you’ve won.
The Nokia N97 Widget Competition
Nokia tasked mobile and internet enthusiasts across the globe to submit an idea for a cool new application that could be used on the Nokia N97 device.
With over 1,300 entries, Nokia chose the top 10 ideas and invited the entrants to the Nokia Developer Summit in Monaco where 10 of Nokia’s elite developers then raced against the clock to turn the ideas into reality.
Check out the all the action and the winning widget ‘Rocket’ here.
Winning Widget
So congratulations go to David Emmanuel Castro, a social networking fan from Mexico, who won with his social location based ‘Rocket’ widget. ‘Rocket’ helps millions of people around the world know exactly where their friends are, what they are doing and can even send them virtual goods such as flowers or chocolates.
His widget – built by two expert developers from Plusmo, a leading mobile widget service provider – is designed to work seamlessly with Ovi, which allows people to use their device to send and receive content based on where they are, what they like, when they’re there, why they’re there and who else has downloaded similar content.
Rocket works by presenting a mini view of the locations of a user’s friends and adds information about what they are doing. Inspired by the incredible possibilities of location based services, David’s widget is easy-to-use and brilliantly simple.
Rocket will now have premium placement on the highly anticipated Nokia Ovi Store, where it will be available for free to Nokia customers around the world. The Ovi Store will offer people in Australia, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States a wide range of content including applications, games, videos, widgets, podcasts, location-based applications and personalized content.
The competition’s runners-up were Marco Lobb from Italy, who designed the widget, Shoppy, a shopping list application and built on-site by Inova IT from Slovenia and Bruce Hopkins, who designed Travel Planner which was built by Paving Ways from Germany. Both will have their widget available through Ovi Store.
Be sure to check out the Ovi Store when it launches in June to see what you think of the winning widget, and see what you can do with your new Nokia N97.
ENJOY, WE’LL BE IN TOUCH AGAIN SOON.
