Nokia has just released the beta version of the Internet Radio application. The plan is to embed the new application into upcoming Nokia S60 version 3 devices, but it is available now for free on the N82, N91 and N95 today by visiting http://www.nokia.com/internetradio .
"Most new music discovery occurs while you're listening to the radio," said Tommi Mustonen, head of the Nokia music business. "By offering the Nokia Internet Radio service on mobile devices, the radio experience becomes more accessible, giving people new ways to find music."
Hundreds of stations are reportedly available. To make navigation of the hundreds of stations available, the station directory enables you to search based on station name, genre, country or language. Updates to the top ten most popular Internet radio stations are made hourly and are also available in the station directory. Adding a station to the list of 'Favorites' makes it easy to fire up your regulars.

... That's a fair question, Tommie. Especially as the N81 is billed as a music and gaming device- you'd think it would be one of the first devices to include this feature- but according to Nokia the N81 is not compatible with the Internet Radio application, at least not yet. They also state that the N82 is compatible with the new Internet radio app, but not the online music store... so I'm quite confused as to how all of this is being rolled out. It is said that the Internet Radio application will be compatible with upcoming s60v3 devices from Nokia. |

Great App! I'm currently listening german station "GrooveFM" by using iRadio. Great App! However, I prefer my N800 which seems to have same directory as iRadio (IT2008beta OS).. But, great move! Makes more use for wlan.. |

... I am getting buffering disruptions and usually after the first one it says connection timed out. I use D-Link wi-fi 624 router in my home. I don't get interruptions using Fring or the internet. Any idea what might be the problem? Many thanks, Dan |

... Hmmm... not quite sure. Have you done a speed test on the connection? There's a good one at http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?flash=1. Can you stream other things, such as youtube, Internet radio stations on the PC etc.? |
