The WidSets team has been working on an update for the past couple of weeks, and the new features will go live today. Due to this upgrade there will be a service break today, Tuesday June 10th.
The biggest change, and most visible, is in the My Profile widget. Users now have the ability to share their favorite WidSets content with other "WidSeteers" and comment on them. The My Profile widget also has the following changes.
- My private channel: private messages and bookmarks, news from WidSets, comments and widget recommendations from other members
- My public channel: a public profile page which includes your public bookmarks, other members comments, widgets you’re using and profile info
- Subscribed users: list of other members whose activities you follow
- WidStes users: list of WidSets users sorted by different filters. All latest public bookmarks visible from the community
These features will continue to be improved upon by the team, so they openly and warmly welcome your comments to help facilitate the improvement to provide better and more usability. A couple more features and items of interest-
- Bookmarking content: divided to private or public bookmarks
- Tutorial shown for the first time when opening the application
- Moving widgets on the dashboard is smoother that before
- Reporting abusive content /user in mobile end
- Developer site will no longer exist. Developers who develope widgets with the SDK can upload the new widgets to the beta widgets category at the main site. There are a bunch of other little issues and things that have changed. If you're new to WidSets and are interested in giving it a go- the WidSets website is a great place to start. With over 5,600 WidSets to date, you're likely to find some value in at least a few of them. Current WidSeteers will receive a private message in their inbox shortly concerning the update- and don't forget, there will be a service break as the upgrade is rolled out today.
