Spotted at N95users today, member Benz-Driver has posted a picture of his newly updated N95-1 . RM-159 (N95-1) MCU SWV 21.0.016 has apparently been available at Nokia Service Centers in at least the UK since this past Wednesday. The official changelog was posted earlier in the thread- no doubt that if you are an N95 user, you have most likely seen it already. This is basically the v21 firmware that has been in testing and available on a web runtime demo for developers and tinkerers since sometime around October last year.

So if you have an "old school" N95-1 and a Nokia service point around you, I would recommend taking that phone and heading out to that service center. Enjoy the flash in your browser. :)

Edit- To clarify, this update does not seem to be available with the Nokia Software Updater still, as of right now. It should be hitting NSU soon, for now it's only at walk-in service points. It's reported that all generic Euro and Middle Eastern product codes are allowed the update, as well as several local (euro) variants are also being made available. Generic product IDs ready for update include the following-

0561829            0536065
0561270            0555020
0561019            0555012
0557077            0545831
0557061            0536074
        0555029

Hey guys- let's take it easy. I'm quoting the thread that is discussing the fact that it's now available at Nokia Service Centers- I believe your story was different in the fact that you're just reporting again that it's coming sometime soon. I just happen to reference earlier in that same thread that a change log is available. Regular readers know that I always quote you guys when I get a piece of news from S-F. That changelog is all over the Internet- and I'm simply referencing the thread, one of many out there, where I saw it at. Who even knows where the OP in that thread ended up getting it from- you both know how the Internet works. I think he quoted where he saw it as well. Looking at it again, yes he did. Following that link- I see where you seem to claim young Norman is inappropriately using "your" changelog as well.

Seriously- Do you guys really need to come at me like this- or everyone else in the last few days?

Very disappointing and frustrating lately... let's all relax about this linking business for a minute, please.

the changelog did come from SF first, and lots of people been posting it without linking back to the source, and as you know yourself as a blogger can be a little annoying for people to steal your news.. not saying you did, i relize now this is something completly different, i should of read it properly.. it is a nightmare the internet, every blogger writting about something and you get the hot news and its everywhere.. and it just seems lately that everyone has something against us at symbian-freak..

I can understand the frustration, but you must also understand my own when Teo and yourself come to my site and leave a comment on a two day old post such as "It will be nice to put link back to the source from time to time?". My readers know that I ALWAYS post a link back to a source when I cover a piece that isn't my own- when someone blatantly accuses me of otherwise, I get a little frustrated myself.

In the future, if you'd like to discuss such things- I'd be much more happy if you would contact me directly, rather than leave such comments at my 'home' in front of my guests, especially when you have the whole thing wrong. :S

pseudofinn at nokiausers.net - if you please, in the future. Cheers, guys.

Yeah PseudoFinn - next time make sure you post a source link in the tiniest possible font and bury it beneath a bunch pics and dead space. After all, that's a very respectable practice...

Speaking of sources, odd that I've never seen these guys link the warez forum that they source half of their posts from - not a single time...

Thanks, Zach. I'll keep that in mind. smilies/wink.gif

You don't mean that these guys don't link their sources do you...? That would be odd, given the discussion they've started here. :-/

we dont take any news from "warez" sites, please show me news we have taken from warez sites.. we have nothing to do with warez what so ever, so i would get your facts straight before making such ridiculas comments.. we allways source back to the original source of news.. and dont visit any warez sites as we are very strongly against such sites that are destroying the symbian devleoping community

Tend to disagree with you in some points.. . . .
written by Teo, March 27, 2008
Don’t get it that personally PseudoFinn! It is shameless that no one links back to the SF as the source of this info although all reliable bloggers including you know that SF is the really source and that’s it!! I am pretty sure that you are subscribed to SF feed and that you know that it appeared on the SF first. I got it from the first hand 20 minutes after the change log was sent out to services centers. Next time I’ll implement a really nasty protection so it will be obviously who will take it from Symbian Freak.

Speaking about warez sites, I am really not sure what are you talking about, don’t know really what we can get from such a sites and even if we get something from there we can’t link it unfortunately because it is strongly against or rules, sorry for that but we just can’t link and support warez scene and that’s it.

Speaking of the linking back, we are truly trying to be an example how it should looks like and we are always linking our sources and we are not sure we are putting multiple sources, this over that over anything, we are even linking to sites like ASS that strongly avoiding the linking to the SF as we really don’t care that much about.

Teo-[/b The point is that there are professional ways to behave, and I feel you folks are more than a little out of line with your comments here. My article has nothing to do with 'your' changelog, nor does it have anything to do with any of the other many "'v21 FW coming soon" posts at S-F. This article was about the actual release of the firmware at the Nokia Service Centers, I quoted the source where I read this and other information obtained by Nokia personnel- at N95users.com. The only mention of the changelog is a reference to the same discussion thread at N95users. The OP posted the source where he read it, which was Symbianworld.de, who also posted his source- and has received the same treatment as myself.

You ask me not to take it personally, though you accuse me of never giving credit to my sources- then you tell me you link sites like AAS even though they don't link you because you don't care that much... but quite obviously you do or, we wouldn't be having this shameful conversation- correct?

At any rate, if you had read the article before you posted the very condescending "It will be nice to put link back to the source from time to time?" comment, you would have realized that this article has ZERO to do with you and "your" changelog. In fact, I have not posted the changelog. If you had read this post before 'contributing' to he discussion here, you would realize that my post has nothing to do with this changelog that you feel is your intellectual property. There is no need to make any "nasty protection" as you say, simply to deal with things on a professional level. I have asked before and I will ask again, if you insist on continuing this inane discussion, I would prefer you contact me directly. My email is above, if you wish to speak on this more.

For the record, since you mentioned it- I haven't subscribed to the S-F feed in some time now for a number of reason.

Marty- “i would get your facts straight before making such ridiculas comments.. we allways source back to the original source of news..”

First off- I would suggest you do the same, sir. Get your facts straight, and perhaps read the discussion before you jump in. Again- this article has nothing to do with you and S-F, until you popped over here to slap our wrists for not linking to you (when there was CLEARLY no need to).

I have asked you both to continue this unreasonable discussion in private between us, and you have chosen to do otherwise.

Again- if there are further words you feel you need to exchange with me- please do so like a gentleman and contact me privately so that we can resolve whatever issue you have.

We’re all in this for the same purpose (or at least I had assumed until recently)- to spread the word of Nokia and S60, and to provide post consumer education. This petty discussion about who links who and who owns what changelog or otherwise is very disappointing and is getting quite tiresome from your end at many communities. I hope we’re all over it now. If you feel I should have linked something to you in the future- contact me in a respectable manner and we’ll sort it out.

N95 V21.Camera Not Working after Update
written by N95SuxNowAfterV21, May 15, 2008
I have upgraded to the latest Firmware 21.0.016 using NSU(after updating the latest) and have very serious problems.I did not debrand the though phone though.
I did a backup and re-installed 3 times and even did a Soft reset *#7370# Hard reset code *#7780# of phone and card 1GB sd Card memory.Re Installed it again in vain.
The Camera stops working and it doesnt evem initilatize. it just gives a flicker and goes back to the menu though my bar code reader is working with the camera.
Secondly i cant see the Youtube videos in the browser i click a youtube video and it streams from my real player and not from the browser after the update to V21.0.
Though i did get an extra 28MB ram and the browser speed is faster.
Can someone please help me to fix this as camera is a vital part in my chosing the N95. Please do not say take it back to the Nokia Care Center and contact Nokia directly. Please help me with a genuine reply. Thanks

Skaros- the N95 8GB is the N95-2, this article is in reference to the N95-1 which was the original N95 variant that came in Sand and Plum with a lens cover. Your N95 8GB is up-to-date.
