Well I guess it’s better late than never, especially when it applies to firmware. In what appears to be the light at the end of the tunnel for N95-3 users, Nokia has finally brought attention to the long overdue firmware issue. While other N95 models were updated months ago -bringing demand paging, web runtime, ‘real’ flash support, and even geotagging; North American users can finally expect to see their update as early as June. In a statement from the Nokia Software Update, the official word was as follows:
Nokia is aware of consumers’ demand for a new software release, and our development teams are working to produce the new software as soon as possible. We estimate that the new software should be available early June.
Please note that your mobile service provider, operator, or carrier may not have approved the latest Nokia device firmware available. Nokia produces many different variants of each product (for different countries and languages) and not all variants will have the latest Nokia device firmware. It is our priority to update all variants as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any delay.
Nokia is aware of consumers’ demand? I know, I had to re-read that first sentence as well. I was aware of the demand 6+ months ago, as I’m sure most NAM users were. The wait continues...
