I've been playing around the last few days with this pretty slick application on my N95. ExtGPS is a java based app that allows a bluetooth connection to be made with an S60v3 device to act as an external GPS for Mac, Windows, Linux and other S60 devices. The most interesting use of it for me has been connecting my N95-3 to an N800 Internet Tablet running Maemo Mapper. In this scenario, the N95 provides 3.5G connectivity for super quick map tile downloading as well as GPS to the N800. The setup is extremely quick and couldn't be more simple.Click through to read more, with video and a download link for the free software.
In case it needs to be mentioned, you'll of course need an S60V3 device with an internal GPS- currently that means N95/E90/6110/N82 owners. I've tested the app on both the N95 and the N82, both work fantastically. Set as favorite Email This Comments (6)

But you said it's for use with other S60 phones too? I can't get my N82 GPS data to work on my E51 and E61i. I use Nokia Maps and Navfone Pro and neither application recognise my N82 as a legit GPS receiver. Any advise? report abuse
