N95-1 & N85 Receive Surprise Updates via Nokia Software Updater

Details of this update are pretty much non existent at the moment, but early reports from All About Symbian (unofficial), and Bartmanekul from N95users state this V31 is available via Nokia Software Updater.

Will add N95 Change log when I get it.

Ok, updated my N95-1, and can sadly report, no Transitions, however, there are some subtle changes within the menu structure, see the additional options in my screenshots below. "Uninstall" replacing "Removed", and "Change Skin" now a quick option. The Gallery seems even faster browsing through thumbnails, quicker than V30 for me, ASR (Auto Screen Rotation) seems quicker also.

I really was convinced that the N95-1 would of been given the N96 transitions this firmware Upgrade, just like the N81 8GB recently got in V21. I guess we should still be thankful that the N95 is still getting updates however.

Just to mention, V31 is not available just yet to all product codes, but will be soon, currently, its only available for Generic Product Codes.

Hi, im a N95 classic owner, just about two weeks ago the mic of my fone did not function so i brought my fone to one of the nokia care center here in cebu and told me to come back after 2 days. So i did, but they told me my fone did not boot up after installing firmware. So they told me to come back after two days again coz they're still troubleshooting it. I came back as they said but my fone's not yet fixed. I kept calling and visiting NCC but still my fones not fixed. Then from my investigation, i found out that they downgraded the firmware of my fone. few days before i brought it there i upgraded it to v31. I found out they installed v30, so i told them what really was wrong with my fone. And now they're claiming that the firmware i installed, which is v31, is a third party software. I was really very disappointed with NCC and their service that i even get histerical there. How come it is not part of their SOP, the checking of current firmware installed, since it will cause damage when downgrading the units. Could you help me prove to them that v31 already exist coz there system cant detect. I bet their product code is for phils. which still cant update to v31.please, please help me.
