Default New to N-95-3, Fast file transfer

Since I am new to the N-95-3 I am trying to figure the best way to send video files from phone to PC. If the file is a bit large it is then slow via file transfer using File Explorer w/bluetooth. I tried the USB cable and that didn't seem to be any better.

Yeah, USB is brutally slow on the Nseries devices for some reason. I suspect the OS is at fault, as the specs claim USB 2.0, and what we're seeing is not USB 2.0 speed. I believe that the project manager for the N96 said that FP2 fixes this problem.

Bluetooth is no go. If you're talking about anything larger than an image, you can just forget it.

Your best option is a card reader, straight into the PC. This is what I generally do.

Cheers, Gary. Welcome to the forum.

Default fast file transfers

Thanks for comment... I did try taking the memory card over to the pc to copy the file off. But, my pc didn't show the files when I tried to access via File Explorer... Should it???

If there is something on the card, it most certainly should. Are you saving images to the 160MB internal memory instead of the card?

Open the camera app, OPTIONS>SETTINGS>MEMORY IN USE - make sure this is set to memory card.

EDIT: if you have never set this from when you started using the phone, it is default set to save to Phone memory.

I am assuming here that your PC DOES however DETECT the cards presence when inserted?

The problem could be that your card reader is not designed for SDHC. You might need a new card reader.
