Save to where???
Hi Folks,
Noob to the forum but not a noob to Nokias. Just purchased an N93 from Ebay. It arrived today and I love it!! It's got soooooo much bad press, but I'm impressed! then again it might be because its a new toy.
Now my problem. It doesnt let me save photos, it doesnt give me the option to save them, they only save to 'lifeblog'. The other problem is, even though WLAN scanning is off, its still telling me theres a Wireless network nearby when their is (like its still on search mode). Anyone any answers for these?
Oh firmware is:
V 20.0.058
21-10-06
RM-55
N93 (52.01)
And I live in Scotland UK, if that helps any. Much appreciated

Have you checked to see if there is a firmware update or anything?
Also, i assume you have had a look through the camera settings as to your saving options....

Thanx for the quick reply McBain, i've got an update on this progress. As for a firmware update, I havent checked as my pc is out of action and im typing this from my mac ibook. As for the camera options, I had a good fiddle about with them this morning and noticed there's an option to save pics taken, to an album. Only problem is, there's no albums in my Gallery folder and no options to create any. I think maybe the previous owner, for quickness, deleted the folders instead of his/her individual photo files before sending it to me.
When I get my pc up and running again, do you think a reflash would work, using NSS?

I do think a re-flash would be your best option.
Also, with alot of phones, if a folder doesnt exist, that should, it will usually create one as required. eg. you have no album folder but elect to save to album...upon the first photo being taken/saved, the folder should be created.

Well when I select the option to save to folder, a menu pops up where folders should be, asking me to choose a folder, but because one isnt there, I cant carry on with the save selection. Also found another glitch. It freezes whenever I open then 'Themes' folder. All in all I still think its an awesome phone, and I'm an ex N95 user lol
I'll try a hard reset, failing that it'll have to wait til I get my pc back up and running to do a reflash. Thanx for the response again mcbain

Err skip my last reply, the '3, *, green button' trick worked a treat, folders are back, and with the abaility to create new folders and the theme folder is playing along now

I had an N95-1. Got it on a contract upgrade. A few months later I got a very nice HTC TYTN from ebay for much cheapness. As much as I liked the N95, I really liked the TYTN and got into ROM cooking and reflashing different roms and stuff with that, so the N95 kinda lay quiet.
Then I got offered a 37" Hi Def LCD tv as a swap for the N95, so I said yes, as I had my Tytn I was happy. Now though, I'm going to Germany in july to go around the Nurburgering and wanted a decent vid phone to capture the holiday footage. N95's are still quite expensive so I got an N93!
Still love the N95, like the 8GB one better as it looks better and a slightly bigger screen, but dont like the storage limitation. At Least with the N95 you can add as much storage as you like, and carry different storage for different reasons eg: one card for movies and mp3's and another for GPS maps. I also thought the N95 felt very plasticy and delicate. I was petrified incase I dropped it as I imagined it smashing into lots of pieces, but its still a great phone!
