Default Nokia 6263 Battery Life

Hi everyone, I just got a Nokia 6263, which is advertised as having ~12 days of standby time, but my phone only lasts 4 days without me doing anything. I tried charging it twice, both with only 4 days, and then took it into my T-mobile store, which had no way of testing the battery, but they gave me a new one. I started charging it Monday, but right now the battery looks to be low, it hasn't made any low battery noises, but I don't see how it could last another 9 days. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them? I know the Bluetooth is off. Is there anything else that could be causing problems? I have used other Nokia phones before so I would think I know how to charge a phone, but maybe this one is just defective. Any other Nokia 6263 users out there?

Nokia 6263 Battery Life problem - talk time and stand-by. I have had the same battery life problem from the first day I purchased the Nokia 6263. I also got a replacement battery after two weeks but it did not help. There may be a problem with the phone itself... I spoke with T-Mobile and the phone warranty is for 12 month; they will ship a new phone for $9.95 shipping cost but my battery is now out of warranty (over 3 month old) and I would have to take a chance that the battery is not the cause of the problem. I suggest you ask T-Mobile to send you a replacement phone and battery before the battery is out of warranty.

Default Dont bother

It is not defective. I bought 2 6263 phones for myself and my wife. Neither battery lasted for more than 2 or three days. I got both phones replaced, no change in life of batteries. Now Nokia says I can send the phones in for warranty service. I am dubious that they would find any fault. I have never had such problems with Nokia products. I am going to disable the bluetooth to see if I can get a few more days, but I doubt anyone is truly getting anything close to the performance that Nokia is stating we should get.

Thumbs down Battery life is a problem with the Nokia 6263

I have had a Nokia 6263 since July 2008 and this seems to be a problem with the phone. I complained that I was only getting 1-2 days of battery life whether I used my phone or not--I could get 2+ hours of talk time on a charge, but battery drained really quickly in standby mode. First, they sent me another battery and I got the same result--now they have sent me another phone and it still has the same problem.

When battery indicator goes below full charge you have a matter of hours before the phone is dead rather than days. Neither of my batteries has ever lasted longer than 2 or 2 1/2 days in standby mode--a fraction of the amount they claim, which is why I chose this phone in the first place.

I talk very little on my phone--it is there for security and I need to know if someone is trying to reach me--that's why I don't constantly turn it on and off, but leave it in standby mode. I have always loved Nokia, but I think this particular phone is not only terrible, but the claims made for it border on fraud I am sorry to say.

Default Battery life depends on location.

My normal battery life on my 6263 when at home here in the Cleveland, OH area is a little over one week with light usage. But, when I was in the Mid-Missouri area on vacation this summer, the battery life was only one to two days. Apparently the phone requires quite a bit more power depending on which band it is using or how far it is from a tower.
