Default Nokia N95 supports BL-6F

This is for all you "beta" testers who grabbed an N95 before they announced the enhancements. The good news is: The new 1200mAh battery will work in your current N95.

Very interesting! Now I'm pondering whether to grab that crystal case! I would think it might not be too long before there is an entire after-market casing that would somehow accomodate it without the need for the crystal.

But in the meantime, that just made a whole lot o' people very happy!!

Great news that the battery will work. But while a battery would be cheaper then buying the new N95 I am holding out to pickup the new handset and give the new old one to my boss...

Even though I ordered mine from a US vendor, I got the APAC version sent to me...which came with a nice case. This should work for me, so I don't need the crystal case...

I hope they start selling the new battery soon.

Where did you hear this? I've certainly heard nothing of the sort...

Are you talking about a 3rd party manufacturer? Certainly nothing has been announced, and I don't expect it will be from Nokia.

That would be great if it was OEM, I never considered the possibility.. I would have thought Nokia would keep it exclusive to N95-3, so as to make people upgrade. On the flip side, why wouldn't they look after us anyway? The early adopters got the raw end of the stick, it would be nice if Nokia gave us a little present for the N95-1 in the form of a higher capacity battery and OEM cover to go with it..

My next wish is for somebody to develop a program that can use a portion of your memory card as extra RAM, much the same way a windows page file works. It would be slower accessing data than regular RAM, but never seeing 'Out Of Memory' errors again would be a more than satisfactory trade-off.

Food for thought for all you Symbian programmers out there...!!
