NiiMee Mouse using the phone as a 3D mouse

NiiMe is a python application written to take advantage of the built in accelerometer inside the Nokia N95 (and probably N95 8GB and N82) to emulate a mouse. I’m wondering if this can be used in the future to control a 3D interface since the accelerometers inside current Nseries devices supports that third Z axis?

We’re definitely living in some interesting times and this video has further reinforced my feelings that projectors inside mobile phones are nothing but a gimmick. When you’re in a bar or club, whatever, the 4 walls surrounding you offer X amount of space. With the falling prices of glass the future is going to be a world surrounded by displays. All the walls inside that club, inside your workplace, inside your home, will be IP connected and you’re going to connect to them via your mobile phone.

What is your input mechanism? Something similar to NiiMe I would hope.
