HS-45, AD-43 reviews

I've got my N95-3 and have been using the included HS-45, AD-43 headset. It's a bit awkward and goofy looking, but once you figure it out and get used to it, it's not half bad.

I'm just wondering what others think of it.

I wanted a wired headset. I have thing about sticking a radio transmitter in my ear. Too much cancer around... Yeah I'm a freak. I think I'm gonna get an Etymotic ety.com headset.

The HS-45 headset sucks, as the headphones keep falling out. I've only really realized that when the remote control unit AD-43 died due to a low battery inside. And since new headsets arent that expensive, I went for a new one - and was only delivered a new remote control, this time the AD-54 (or -45?), which is what is shipped with the N95 8GB. Same headphones though.

Headphones: I am now using simple Sony ones from Amazon, ~ 9,- EUR.
Remote control: I am not at all happy with either remote control as a) their cables are way too stiff (!) and b) only the (old) AD-43 comes with an angled 3,5mm plug. Why?

ALso interesting to note is that the original remote control unit AD-43 which came shipped with the N95-1 isnt available via Nokia, only via some sellers on eBay.

I am also one of those guys who prefer a cabled version, so I am wondering why Nokia has put an emphasis on mainly BT headsets even though the phone already is a battery drainer.

I've now invested 7,- EUR on a HS-43 from China. Now let's see how that quality is.

(why can't these headset just be like those found on a SE K800i with a small mic close to the mouth?)

I gotta say I like the headset. Used it a binch for snowboarding (in case you all didn't know that's all I do all winter) and I loved the fact that I could push the buttons with the gloves on which is NEVER an easy task for any buttons. Can't say whether or not they stayed in well becuase I was wearing a hat the whole time but they were one of the few that felt comfortable in my ears. (apparently I've got weird ears cause no in ear headstes feel comfortable to me). Overall I think they work fine but I'm not one of those people that walk around constantly listening to music.
