Groove on The Move(Nokia MD-6 Review)-erazer007
The Nokia MD-6 is a portable speaker by Nokia.
Its specifications are Weight 140g(Including batteries) Dimensions 122×32x33.5mm Cable length 700mm Operation time Up to 27h Power 4 AAA batteries Connector 3.5mm Nokia AV connector Sales package contents Nokia Audio Adapter AD-63 Nokia Audio Adapter AD-52 Nokia Carrying Pouch 4 AAA batteries User guide Positives Good Speaker Quality Nice Colour 3.5mm Connector(2.5mm Adaptor) Good Battery Life Portable Innovative Design Negatives Nothing I can think of. Design The design of the Nokia MD-6 is very innovative. The speakers are held together by magnets. It features a hinge design which only unveils the speakers when opened. This prevents any damages to the speakers when its not in use or while travelling. The 3.5mm connector can easily be strecthed out of its cradle when required. This prevents tangling of wire. The speakers switch on once yu open the flap and switch off when you close it. Portability THe dimensions of the speaker is 122×32x33.5mm.According to me the dimensions are perfect.Although a decrease in the length of the device would make it even more portable. However this is restricted due to the AAA batery slot.If it was a rechargable model then a decrease in length may be possible. The size is very similar to a deodrant or bottle of perfume. Sound The sound quality on the device is absolutely stunning. When these are switched on, you go into another world.I havent seen such good quality in speakers which are 3 times bigger. The loudness is good. There is very very little distortion at maximum volume(It also depends on the quality of the song you are playing). Battery Life Nokia claim the battery life on the device to be upto 27hrs.Although I have not tried it, it should deliver a performance somewhat next to that. However this battery life depends on the loudness and other factors. Others The speaker is powered by 4 AAA batteries.I think a rechargable model would have been bette as now there are very few things that operate on AAA batteries. Conclusion Finally after having a good play with this device,I can say that this is a really good product by Nokia.I did not find any defects but there are a few places where Nokia can improve such as providing rechargable batteries etc.I expect Nokia to include such changes in the next version. I thank WOM World for lending me this device for trialing. ![]()
