It shouldn't be too much longer for 32GB microSDHC, especially now that Toshiba has announced 64GB full size SD card to be available Spring 2010:

In the past whenever a new larger capacity SD card was announced, a microSD card of half the new capacity soon became available. It seems almost certain that SanDisk will do what they must to get 32 giggers on the market before the 2009 holiday season.

News release re 64 gig SDXC is here:

Eldar (from that famous review site) has had a 32GB card for quite a while.

He's had it ages...

I guess Sandisk is going through their usual process, release new higher capacity cards ---> sell a bunch ---> release higher transfer speed versions at the same capacity ---> sell a bunch (hopefully collecting a few repeat customers who already got the slower ones) ---> once they think they've milked all they can and competitors get close ---> release new cards!

Oh so sad but true. And yet, reading this is comical, somehow. Thanks for the good laugh!

It is.

Actually, the truth is somewhat more prosaic ... many of the 8Gb cards are 16Gb cards that failed the QC procedure, so they just disable the other 8Gb.

So I guess that now the 64Gb cards are announced, the 32Gb cards that will arrive will probably be 64Gb cards that failed QC on one half of the chips.

I suppose I don't have a problem with this; you still get what you pay for & it's cost and environmentally friendly to do it this way.
