Default Need more power?

After seeing PseudoFinn's Proporta charger first hand, I bought one.
Came in handy at the concert I went to last night, my N95's battery died halfway through.

I recently saw the PowerSource from Duracell
It has 4000 mAH and sells for $140. The cool thing about it is that it has a regular power plug.

Then I found out the Powersource is just a rebranded device.
Here's the same device from buy.com for about $80

I don't know.... 3600mAh vs 4000mAh for another hundred bucks?? Even if you get that 80 dollar deal, it's still almost twice the price.

I really like that the proporta has the option to charge any USB device and has the option of the interchangeable tips- the only problem that I'm running into is that I'm on my second retractable cable failure. This time it came just as I was on my way to Finland for a week- not exactly ideal! I was really counting on this device for the trip, and it let me down.

I suspect I'll be contacting proporta soon...

Found another one from APC

Has a 10wh capacity, but doesnt seem to come with charger cables.

edit: upon further review, 10 wh only equals 2000 mAH

To be honest, I dont think the DC-8 will be useful.
Its the same thing as the Energizer thing. That thing was pretty useless.

The DC-1 seems to be a Nokia redesign of the Proporta. A lot of online stores are taking preorders, so I guess it coming out soon.
But it costs twice as much as the Proporta, so I dont think its worth it.

DealExtreme: $74.25 Lithium 8800mAh USB and AC Universal External Power Battery Set
I saw this one recently on dealextreme, which really gives the Proporta a run for its money.

It has a whopping 8800 mAh, which is more than twice the Proporta. That's enough energy to charge a laptop or the N95 8 times. It comes with a ton of tips for iPods, phones and laptops.

Its $74.25, which is very comparable to the Proporta as well.

Wow. That is EXTREMELY tempting...

I wonder what kind of quality it is.... EMKO- is that the name of the manufacturer?

I like that it comes with all the tips, instead of shipping a few tips and charging three bucks per tip or whatever Proporta charges.

Edit- Apparently I was logged into the wrong account- this post was from me, PseudoFinn!

I found another one.

This is the Power Gorilla.
It holds a whopping 21000 mah. This thing is designed for laptops, but its sure to last your mobile for a week with heavy use.

Unfortunately, it wont be out until the fall.

I'm heading to Las Vegas next week- and plan on taking all my charging options with me for a mega-review when I get back. I've got a LOT of different options here, so this should be a pretty interesting post. At any rate- it's gonna be more like next week than sooner for the Xantrex review.
