Well, after seeing some images on here from a telescope shot i was impressed, so i thought I'd buy one of these telescopes.
Telescope Camera 6x Zoom for Nokia N95 Mobile Phone: 005180-004 VirtualVillage.ie Cost me £15 including delivery, took about 7 days to come here. when i opened the box, found the following contents in the box... ![]() The Assembly was quick and easy, snaps straight on and off, looked more of a struggle than it was because my fingers are quite big and clumsy, but heres a video.. YouTube - n95 Optical Telescope Assembaly without the telescope lens attached, the case is actually quite nice, it's durable has a clear screen on it, and you still have full control of your phone, no buttons are hard to access, and it doesn't feel bulky at all. The image quality is pretty good, however, i think you lose some of the quality, i think this is my bad photo taking skills though, i don't have the steadiest of all hands. but heres the zoomed version of the image... ![]() and the unzoomed... ![]() (image cropped to save on bandwidth + the unscopped picture covered a huge area what wasn't in the comparison) Like i said, poor quality on my images, was just using landscape setting there because i thought it would be best. sometime soon I'll take it with me somewhere and try and get some decent shots i don't really think backs of houses do it justice. but as an instant comparison for the scope on and scope off here's one last video... YouTube - N95 Telescope Initially the telescope is on, and is a bit blury, the telescope lens has a wheel on it where you turn to focus, once focused i take the lens off, then put it back on again... if i was to give this product a rating out of 10, it definitely deserves an 8. the only problem i have with it, is when the lens is on, it's harder to access the camera shutter (if you wanted to open and close it) other people in my house can manage it, and i can manage it with my little finger, but with my index finger, it's a struggle. i would also recommend this for the case feature alone. if you weren't too bothered about the telescope, the blue mount on the front of the case could be unstuck and pulled off from the rest of the case, leaving you a solid, compact, and tidy looking case for the n95! anyways, i know it's only a £8 product, but thought i'de review it anyways, hope this is helpfull to someone! It is a nice little toy, impulse bought it when I saw it on mobilefun.co.uk. I actually took it to Madrid on an architecture trip and instead of using it on the camera I used it to look at building details and street signs far away, so more useful than I thought it would be!

I ordered mine last friday week (the 14th) from here:
eBay Store - Vinnex: Telescopes Tripod: Camera Telescope Tripod Crystal Case f Phone Nokia N96 I got the one with the tripod included because i want to use my n95 as a webcam. I recieved it the on thursday (20th) which is really fast considering its from hong kong. It arrived perfectly, and i have to say im really impresed with it. The crystal case is really good like the OP has said, mines identical except mine has no logo painted on the back. The tripod needs to have one leg shorter than the rest for it to be stable, and it uses a spring type vice which isnt the best but its awesome for the price. Theres a seller in australia (iirc) on ebay that sells the same package but has an additional different type of tripod. Its well worth it for those far away shots, making it a little more than a toy imo! Last edited by Smithy; 11-23-2008 at 05:56 AM. |
