Bluebell Wood

Taken on the '95, Auto Settings. Cropped on the PC

Looking at the image full size of the more distant bluebells you can see the limitations of the Nokia's Jpeg compression where the picture starts to look 'Impressionist!'.

Not saying I'm not happy with the picture though!

It's a shame we can't save images in RAW format 'straight off the CCD'

Great shot. Thought it was using panoman for a minute.

there's a software which allows you to save the image in RAW. I forgot what it was called though.

EDIT: Ahh, here it is Take RAW Images From Your Nokia! The Symbian Blog

Thumbs up

Thanks Leong! I'll give that a try and will possibly take the same picture again for comparison over the weekend.

EDIT: Ah, no I won't, It only takes pictures at 640 x 480 so that rather defeats the point!

i have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and when i try to open one of these pictures i get the error "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"

but i don't expect 640x480 pictures of any kind to be very good :P

EDIT: i just found they do open with windows picture and fax viewer. but they look like 320x240 pixels

EDIT2: they also open with a program called Gimp which is kind of like photoshop. this program says the pictures are in fact 256x192 pixels :(
so this is completely useless
