Question Barcode Reader recognizes scanned vcards?

Hi folks,

unfortunately I do not have a N95 now. But could somebody try something for me with his/her N95? I am trying to know if it's possible to scan a vcard transported into a QR-Code and safe the information directly into the N95.

This is my test barcode: http://qrcode.kaywa.com/img.php?s=8&...RD%0D%0A%0D%0A

The content is:
Code:
BEGIN:VCARD
N:Mustermann;Hans
TEL:+49 1234 56789
END:VCARD
Normally this code should not be shown. I think you should be asked to safe the tel.no. with the given name. Can somebody try please?

Thanks from Germany!

sarah

yes it scan correctly but what about saving the data in the contacts database of the n95? when scanned it will shot the data. and then you can click options--> save to contacts --> then it will ask new contact or old --> try new, then you have a form with the mobile number already inserted, but is there a name also already inserted or is this filed empty?

thanks!!!!

I found another one:

Not using vcard, it uses a standard called MECARD,

can you try if the data will be applied to the phonebook?

The included bar-code reader shows the vcard with name, but when saved to the contacts it does not include the name, only the number.

The kaywa reader saves it automatically to the contacts with the name (including the semicolon, needs manual editing).

I hope this helps.

Nokia's own barcode reader scans it first time. This is was you get :

It gives you the option to save the number to contacts but you must assign your own name in 'Contacts' to it.
