Cannot get phone to work as modem

My internet was down at my house today so I tried to use my phone as a modem. I connected it through PC suite with the usb cable, and when I went to connect through "one touch access" it said it could not find modem? My phone was showing as connected but would not register as a modem??? Anything I can do???

At 'One touch access' go to settings and make sure there is a modem there to choose from.

If there is not, a reinstall of PC suite should automatically install the modem drivers.

If there is a modem present, make sure your choice of connections on the phone is 'PC Suite'. Open the PC Control Panel and 'Phones and Modems' and make sure the Nokia USB modem is enabled and working.

You then have to make sure, in one touch access settings, that you have chosen your phone service provider.

Let us know how you get on.

I will assume you are on AT&T since you are in florida and have an N95-4. That being the case, you will need to set up a manual connection in one touch access. these are the settings you need to use.

    Access Point: wap.cingular

    Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM

    Password: CINGULAR1

make a note file with that info on your phone so it is always available to you. Sometimes Nokia Phone Suite will 're-recognize' the phone and you need to re-do the settings.

in the one touch access window you should have three buttons. One to connect, one to disconnect and one for settings. Click the settings button, then follow the steps from there.

Zach, I think you've confused us both, some screen shots would help.

Yes this is the same thing I'm getting now. I actually was having problems with the internet connection on my phone. I was thinking the phone had a problem so I down loaded the lastest firmware. While doing so I got the new PC Suite (big mistake) and I have now the same problem that you have with your PC. I was able to connect useing my "Dial up" settings. So I'm guessing that I have to uninstall the new PC Suite and get the one that I had before and some how get my internet working on my phone.

That suggests you don't have the modem drivers installed. These come with PC suite and should install automatically.

Do you have admin rights to the PC?

Which version of PC suite is it (N-series or Nokia)? The Nokia PC suite seems the best for the N95.
