    Nokia 108 Bluetooth issue

    Hi,
I've recently purchased the very basic Dual SIM Nokia 108 for someone who was already using Nokia C1.
Obviously, I was expecting very few features but of-course coming from Nokia, I expected this one to be user friendly.

However , very soon I discovered that the phone doesn't have micro USB connector(something I should have checked before buying!!) but I was confident there would be something as straightforward as SLAM to transfer contacts from C1 to Nokia 108.
Here's how I have been proved wrong!!

(1)The "Phone Switch" given in NokiaC1 doesn't work with Nokia108: Can't understand why??

(2)I tried copying contacts to my laptop and hoped to connect PC suite via BLuetooth to Nokia108. Again, PC suite discovers Nokia 108 but says "Failed to connect to your phone" while the same PC suite has no issues connecting to Nokia C1.: Again this is beyond my understanding.

Need help from experts....if there is any one here.

I want hassle-Free way of transferring contacts from Nokia C1 to Nokia 108.

Looking at the very low-budget spec of the 108 it looks like you will have to resort to transfer via SIM card. The 108 is actually a downgrade from the C1, so lack of features isn't a big surprise.

To copy your contacts via memory card:

    1. Sync your old phone with Nokia Suite and export all your contacts to a folder. E.g. "c:\contacts" (select all contacts -> file menu -> export contacts). Contacts will be exported as separate .vcf files.
    2. Now you have to merge them. Open command prompt. Type exactly: "cd c:\contacts" and hit enter. Then type: "copy *.vcf backup.dat" and hit enter. Wait for the files to merge. Close command prompt.
    3. Copy "c:\contacts\backup.dat" file to the memory card and insert it to your Nokia 108 phone.
    4. Restore your contacts from your Nokia 108 menu (Menu -> Contacts -> Settings -> Restore contacts). Wait a bit and enjoy

Thank you MOXP for your advise, that for me worked fine following your steps . Also was very quickly ( about 2 minutes ) .
Really helpful considering low resources of NOKIA 108. Best Regards

    Thanks a lot
    IT WORKS
Tip: Backup & Restore options will NOT appear unless you insert a memory card

I've got a similar issue. I've just bought a Nokia 108 recently and it won't connect to any vehicle bluetooth systems. In one vehicle they can't find each other and in another vehicle they find each other but are unable to connect. How do I get it to connect?

    Thanks.

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do, as the 108 only supports the OPP bluetooth profile, which is for sending of files. It does not support any handsfree or other type of audio connection over bluetooth.

I had a long chat with the Argos staff as we tried to find a cheap bluetooth phone for the car. It ought to be a bit clearer on the box really.

---------- Post added at 10:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 AM ----------

Argos won't take it back as it's a PAYG phone that's been used.
Never mind. Thanks for your help 93tid.
