Configuration Server files missing
Hi!
Just received my N95-2 yesterday but Im having problems connecting the N95 to pc suite, I always get the message: "PC Suite Connectivity API initialization failed Possible reason: Configuration Server files missing." I have installed and Uninstalled the software many times and followed the instructions properly but still having this problem. Can anyone shed light on what my problem is? Cheers, Ryan |

Have you sorted this yet? If not, here is what has to be done.( I spent an hour and a half on the phone to Nokia today to sort this problem out with my phone.)
First, uninstall all the Nokia software that was installed from the disc in the box (and throw the disc away - yes really!) Next, do a search on your system for all files and folders containing the word "Nokia". If there are any, delete as many as it will allow you to. If there are any remaining, you need to go to download.com and download a piece of software called "ccleaner". When installed, hit the "run cleaner" button and when it has finished doing its thing, tick any file that contains the word "nokia" and hit the fix button. It will probably ask you to confirm each one as it did with me, but just keep hitting yes (as long as they are all files with the word Nokia in them). Next, restart the computer and when up and running again, do the files and folders search again for "Nokia" just to be absolutely sure. (I had an old contacts backup file that would not delete for some reason but this will not be a problem). Now you need to go to the Nokia website and download the latest version of "Nokia PC Suite". The link is as follows: Nokia UK - Download Free Nokia PC Suite Software and hit the download button at the bottom of the page. (Do not go for the phone specific software by finding your phone - you'll see what I mean when you look at the page). When you download the file, save it to your desktop first. Then before installing it, disconnect your computer from the phoneline. From this point, follow the instructions when installing and connect the phone when prompted to do so. You will need to select "pc suite" on the phone when the usb lead is connected and there is one small file that needs to be installed on the phone which you have to say yes to using the buttons on the phone itself. (It may be necessary to do this last bit twice, but, only if asked to). This should cure the problem and the phone and PC will talk to one another now.(It did for me anyway!) Good luck. |
