Question Free public wifi spots in New York

Does any one who lives in New York have a problem connecting to Free public wifi spots on there N95-1/-3? I'm fine at home and at work but when it comes to free public wifi I can barley get on or not at all. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Also you could turn your power saver mode off to give the phone a better chance at milking the wifi.

No no you don't understand I can find all those wifi's. I just cant connect to them. My n95 trys to define the access point of wifi connections and cant. Or some times it can but I can never get a page to load. It took me 5 attemts to get on to Bryant parks wifi and when I did I got thrown off.

Do you think this because the nokia N95-1 is more design for Europe than America and is having problems with America wifi. Its seems people who have the nokia N95-3 have better wifi control and access.

do these WiFi spots have a 'login' page? I know they're free but sometimes even the free ones require you to load the welcome or login page before they'll allow access and this is one thing I don't believe the N95 does. I've noticed any WiFi spots that require this (hotels and such) won't let the N95 connect and this might be the reason. I would try with a laptop and see if you get redirected to a welcome screen the first time you connect, if so this might be the problem.
