Hi,

I use VOIPCheap to make outgoing calls and have configured it on my N95 8GB. For VOIP-In, you could try some of the below and check them out. I have'nt gotten around to them yet but planning to do so soon. And too bad Nokia has removed VOIP from the N96.

Here's the list - (please note i have'nt checked them all out personally yet)

FREE IP Calling with IPKall - Free Washingtion (206) area code number. Number expires after 3 months if not used

www.enum2go.com - Free eNum number

www.freenumber.nl - Free Dutch number

Wholesale VoIP (SIP) & Enterprise Communication Solutions .: Simwood :. - Free UK numbers

Messagenet Communications Research - Free Italian numbers from Rome, Milan and Turin

Skypho Music - Free Italian number, but you have to use their service

SIP Number: Free VOIP SIP Number with unlimited incoming minutes - Free US phone number

VoIP User - the Voice over IP resource - Free UK number

Google - Free UK number - forward to your FWD number

VoiceStick.com - The Internet Phone for cheap local and long distance calling - Free US or UK incoming number - only to be used with their service

sipgate.com - sipgate brings VoIP to your iPhone - Free UK number, but you have to live in the UK and use the Sipgate service

sipgate.de - Ihr kostenloser Internet-Telefonanschluss. - Free German VoIP-In number, however you have to reside in the same area code (German Law)

VOIP Phone Service Providers, Broadband Business Phone, Free Internet Phone Service VOIP,Voice Over Internet Phone Service - Free US phone number

OpenTelecom - UK Virtual Phone Numbers, Telephone Services, Freephone Services - Free UK phone numbers

www.woize.com - Free UK number after you have added a small amount to your call account

Get Awesome Long Distance Rates with AIM Call Out - Free US phone number

Numbr.com:: Home Page - Free temporary telephone number for 1day, 1 week or 1 month - a very nice idea !

Hope this helps

ok...just to update i have registered for an IPKall VOIP-In number. Registered and waiting for the pending approval and issue of number.

For those using a service like VOIPcheap, in IPKall settings/registration field please fill in as follows -

Your VOIPcheap id is as follows username@voipcheap.com and so for IPKall SIP Phone Number: field please input username and for SIP Proxy: field please input sip.voipcheap.com

IPKall Numbers are recycled if;

If the assign number doesn't have any answered in a 30 day period.

If the email on sign up is returned "undeliverable"

If you abuse the IPKall numbers pool in any fashion.

Cheers

Hi David here's the update on IPKall. I have got it working for incoming calls on my N95 8GB as long as i am logged into the VOIPCheap account through WIFi.

Ok, once i got the number from IPKall, i just logged into the site for the particular number and verified my settings as in the above post. When a i get an incoming, it rings on my mobile as long i am logged on to voipcheap.

But i seem to be facing a problem - the first time incoming calls work fine...the next few times, it keeps on ringing. i have to disconnect from voipcheap and reconnect...then it works fine again.

@david: go to the following link for configuring voipcheap. you can use the built in SIP to configure it, no setting up any 3rd party software. You can use Voipbuster or anything else, configuration differs only on minor aspects. And setting the transport type to UDP makes it work for me.

black i got it working but as you said some time it ring and some time it doesn't. Do you think it is voipcheap problem or IPkall problem. Furtheremore, my friend called my using that ipkall it didn't ring a few time then it ring and i talked to her . she was telling me the voice has statics!!! is there away to improve it ? Hope we get better service with good quality or be able to fix this ipkall service.

I setup VoipCheap on my N95 following the 95 tips link on this site.

I only made two test calls, but there was a delay between our home phone and my n95. The clarity was pretty good and very little static.
