Connecting Laptop to Internet Through N95

I would like to connect my Panasonic Toughbook Laptop to the Web through my N95 (UK Orange) in order to view traffic problems on a screen big enough to see (eyes dodgy- age!) when I am traveling, any ideas how to do it?

Load PC Suite on the laptop (download the latest version from the Nokia website).

Connect the phone with the USB cable.

Us PC Suite to connect to the internet (it's pretty straight forward).

Make sure you have a data plan which allows "tethering" (using the phone as a modem), and has plenty of data allowance, or you could be in for a big bill.

if you don't want to use the cable, check out joikuspot and walkinghotspot for your phone.

Joikuspot has a free version, only allows http and https though. I believe WalkingHotSpot is paid for (7 day free trial max).

I must tell you that paid one (Joiku Spot) is more stable and opens every Website without any problem.

Can I do this on Three? I'm aware they don't allow tethering but there must be a way around this?

How does the operator know there is tethering going on? Just based on the large amount of data being used?

If you are web browsing then the browser sends information telling the site you visit what web browser it is. Whether the phone company bother checking each packet for such information or not I don't know.
