Can N95 be used as a wireless mouse?
Did anyone tried to use the N95 as a wireless mouse? Is that feature supported in N95? The wireless mouse feature is supported by the SonyEricsson ! Checking whether N95 supports it or not?

What, does that use the optics then?
Not to sound like a jerk, but it seems like a very silly use for a 750 dollar multimedia computer.

One of the great things that I love about the N95 is that it is pretty open. A virtual bluetooth mouse is something I had actually contemplated doing. Also, before someone released the app called "PhonePoint" I had already home-brewed my own bluetooth-based slide advancer. The possibilities are really endless, and while the OP's idea might sound crazy, it's these sorts of ideas that foster innovation. If you paid $750 for a multimedia computer, you might as well get as much out of it as you can! Who's to say that a particular application is silly if it's the only phone out there that could even possibly do it? Anyway, back on topic: I had thought of a number of ways of using it has a virtual mouse. One of them was the camera, but computing optical flow on such a slow processor could make it prohibitively slow (I have yet to try, however). Another way would be to use the num-pad as a virtual touchpad. Based on the buttons that are depressed, and the movement of your thumb that depresses different buttons, you could compute a motion vector. Even more fun is to use GPS to do this :) I wrote a little game of GPS-based pong a while ago, where you have to actually run around in order to move your paddle (this was with an external GPS, as I wrote it for an older S60 device). It was really a lot of fun. Anyway, to answer the OP's question, yes, it certainly is *possible* to use it as a wireless mouse-- you have bluetooth, and that's all you need. Making it practical, however, is a little difficult, but nevertheless very interesting, whether or not it works. |

uhhh........
Doesn't the N95 have that little fun toy called the Accelerometer?!?!??
Wouldn't that be an ideal feature to use for a mouse? Still too new to know much, but I think that this could really work! |

There was such an app for s60v2 (from psiloc I think) for using the phone as a bluetooth mouse (using the d-pad), but never saw a version for s60v3...
