Cannot Sync with outlook, 1 warning Reported

I have been unable to sync my n95 with microsoft outlook for a while now. I would swear it started when i updated to the newest firmware. I have tried the *#7780# trick with no help, i have surfed other foruns with none of the solutions working for me. Does anyone else have this issue, or have any idea how to fix it? The sync begins with the newest version of PC suite, and after trying to syn the contacts, it has an error with no description i can find.

School is starting, and i was rather fond of being able to load my exam dates and what not inot both outlook and my N95.

I have just started to have this problem - I have no idea why! Has anyone got a solution?

The sync appears to run correctly, but the summary result just says "1 warning reported". It's driving me crazy!

After a marathon email session with Nokia I can report success. No idea why is stopped working, though firewall was not the issue. I had uninstalled 3 times, however the PC Suite cleaner did the trick. So thanks to Nokia support for their help.

However the Nokia Communications Centre still isn't working for me.

1. Open the "Add and Remove Programs" folder in the Control Panel of your computer
2. Remove/Uninstall the following programs:
- Nokia PC Suite
- Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
- PC Connectivity Solution
3. Run the PC Suite Cleaner. You can download at the website link below:
http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-...-suite-cleaner
4. Install the Nokia PC Suite 7.1
Nokia Europe - Nokia PC Suite - Download software - Get support and software
5. Restart computer.
After that, create synchronisation.

Hi Everyone

I was having a similar problem to the one described in this thread. I have an N95 8Gb, and a shiny new PC (Vista 64bit Home Prem, i7 920 2.66Ghz, 3 Gb DDR3 Ram, Geforce 9600GT, Outlook 2007). Initially Sync worked perfectly for me with the USB cable. I would plug the phone in and automatically all contacts, calendar entries and notes would be sync'd without issue. Then about a month ago the synch wouldn't complete. It has taken me until today to fix this issue.

The phone would connect fine and show contacts and calendar entries copying across then at the very end of the sync would say "System Error (with a red !)" and nothing would have copied. The log would just show '1 Warning' with NO DETAILS!

I tried Quartz's solution above and generally fiddling with every setting I could but to no avail. I have now fixed the issue but only after reducing what the phone sync'd down to just contacts, then just calendar, then contacts and calendar together. Ultimately it turns out that it was the sync'ing of notes that was holding the show up. It would appear that the sync program copies the different chosen data across (contacts, calendar, notes, etc) but writes it all in one go at the end. In this case, whatever is wrong with my notes was stopping the write from happening. Crazy.

If anyone knows why this is, I would be interested to know, however in the meanwhile sync is now working fine just copying calendar entries and contacts.

Hope this helps someone else with this incredibly frustrating problem!

PHNX :)

I have the same issue, the problem is the phone used to update properly every time, and all of a sudden I was not able to anymore.
I've tried the PC Sync application from PC Suite, Transfer tab on Ovi Suite and PC sync standalone and none of them will work, from what I gather on the error messages the issue might be with the phone (specifically the calendar)
I'm pretty sure it's not the computer: i've removed and installed both suites and still not, I even formated the PC(due to a whole different issue) and still no luck!
I've also tried to sync anything else but the calendar, no success...
Tried to create a new sync profile, but it won't let me duplicate the settings for the original one
Tried quartz solution and it didn't work!
Finally I tried PHNX suggestion, it did work apparently what's causing the issue in my case are email items and bookmarks sync.

Hope this helps on getting a long term solution.

Only just saw this thread and shouted "I know how to fix that!" LOL

I see this issue often at work and generally it's a case of searching the PC hard drive for folders named as your IMEI number, then just delete them. Fixed this issue on several occasions with this method.

Pop back into PCSuite and set up the sync again and all will be well.

Appreciate that OP fixed it a different way, but as the thread is named quite well for searches, I thought is a good idea to pop this post in as another option.

It's Broke?

Did you know that your Nokia comes with a 2 year warranty? Did you know that Carphone Warehouse are Nokia Repair Centres?
Damage from normal use: wobbly slider, broken keys, quiet earpiece etc... will be repaired for free, and usually the same day if you take it to a big store!

Success at last

SRBush - No worries mate, anytime.

Gavinguinness- Sorry but I had no success with your fix. Despite having a successful work around (in my post above) I was still annoyed at not being able to get a complete sync out of the N95 8Gb. I tried your solution, searching my PC for anything with my IMEI number in the title and it did indeed turn up a number of folders and a few files. I deleted these as you suggested but to no avail. The sync still terminated as before.

HOWEVER: I have now worked out a way to solve this issue completely so that it is no longer just a workaround. What you have to do is:

1.) Work out what is stopping your sync from completing (see my post above). In my case it was notes & bookmarks.

2.) Backup your phone's contents using the 'Backup' Option in PC suite .

3.) Update the firmware which wipes the phone of everything (except what is on the memory card I think - it keeps my music and videos).

4.) When the update is complete you then restore the date you backed up at point 2 using the same PC suite Backup programme (it's the other option 'restore previous backup to phone' or whatever) BUT it gives you the choice not to restore all items. Here you DESELECT whatever was giving you the trouble (so in my case I deselected notes & bookmarks), then complete the sync and now you should be able to sync away without any problems.

5.) Out of curiousity I then went into sync advanced options (under sync direction) and chose to copy data from Outlook onto the phone, and ran a full sync of all items. This completed and in the sync log it showed '2 bookmarks transferred'. These appeared to be draft text messages that had somehow got lost and become bookmarks and I reckon it was these that were stopping my sync from completing previously. After deleting them from the phone I can now sync all items successfully!

I'm sure someone who knows more about Nokia phones than I do could (which isn't saying much) could probably work out a way to do this without needing to upgrade the firmware (factory reset maybe?) but I have already spent too many hours making something that is supposed to be a '1-click' action work, to be bothered anymore!

"Nokia - Connecting people. Who can't get their sync to work. Through this forum. And many hours of problem solving 'fun' " ;)
