MS ActiveSync - will it work

Hi all,

I have been desperately looking for information if I can use MS ActiveSync on my work laptop with N95 by just sticking the phone in the USB port! As I do not have the phone or know anyone who could borrow me one, I can not test this!

I know in general this is possible but I do not have any admin rights on the laptop and in case something is to be installed I'm out of the game! Version of the ActiveSync on my laptop is 4.1 and like said I do not have possibility to upgrade or instal anything on the computer. Our administrator is very strict about installing or upgrading anything which is not "standard" by their terms.

All I want is to sync my Outlook calendar and possibly emails (which is not very important) while the phone is connected directly to the laptop. I'm not talking about connecting the phone directly into our exchange servers as this a no-go anyway!

Highly appreciate if someone could help me with this issue!

Activesync will not work with the N95 or any other non-MS operating system device. Your best bet is to use a personal exchange server. If you look around, there are some pretty reasonable rates out there.
