Would be better if they just integrated this into the gallery and stick it in the next firmware update (when its bug free) instead of having a standalone app.

Now isn't that interesting...!
1. On the multi-pic display, pics ROTATE individually in unison, rather than as on the built-in viewer where the entire screen blanks and re-draws. 2. The browser DOES NOT display small images that are part of software installations, identical icons representing video-clips or broken icons, meaning that if it displays, it can be viewed... Unlike the standard viewer! 3. Face-browsing is a con! tap twice anywhere on a pic and that section is enlarged, from there you can scroll around the screen, there's no face-recognition! ... EDIT: I'm not so sure now, It seems to depend on the pic, tapping on some faces shows a small green square and zooms in, others zoom in without showing the square... More experimentation needed methinks! ;) 4. The 'magnifier' is a bit of a cludge, as it gives no greater magnification than is available by the method described in point 3... With the added disadvantage of having to keep finger-pressure applied to hold the magnifying window open. 5. When 'swiping' the multi-pic display, the effect is as though the screen is on a roller, that is to say that slow swiping moves a shorter distance through the list than a more rapid swipe does. The main advantages as I see it are the VITAL one of displaying pics selectively, i.e. only those that are intended to be shown, the variable swipe-sensitivity and the eye-candy individual pic-rotation, a big advance on mere screen-rotation! ... I could happily do without the '3D effect'! Let's hope that this becomes the standard image-viewer in the next firmware update, though hopefully with more magnification-levels than the single level used here. There's a LOT of development work gone into this!

i think that rotating it rather than blanking then redrawing is great .thats really the reason i dont use auto rotate on my n95 8gb, its too slow. If it can be done with image exchange, quite responsive, why not have something like that for normal screen rotation

Exactly... No doubt this beta app is a test-bed for future firmware... And so far it's looking good! :)
