Nokia E75 with me for a week

I got my E75 on the 6th of June... on the 11th for some reason the memory card could not be accessed. Incoming messages could not be opened. I backedup the data... restored. the software updater asked for update. after updating, the "tap to silence" and "turn to silence" functions disappered from the menu. the local nokia care centre could not be of any help. has anyone else faced the same problem????

Hi anirudhd - I haven't had the same locked mem card problem, but my phone did update its software recently. I just checked the General settings > Sensors - both of those options you mention are no longer available, so I guess they were removed in the update. 'Tap top silence caused problems for me, but 'Turn to silence' was useful. Recently I have been turning my phone wondering why the alarm wont turn off. I know why now - thanks for your post.

all those using E75 in general... how is the phone. as i have posted before, my phone has been sent back to Nokia for check up because of the memory card and messages lock up, just wanted to know the general user feed back.

E75 issues after update

1. Tap Sensor and Turn Sensor not available
2. Long Press # not working to switch profile to silent

aikon, after my phone updated, the tap and turn sensors settings disappeared, but I can still long press # and switch to silent.

anirudhd, I have had the phone about a month now and I like it. It is a little on the large/heavy side, but I can live with it. Occasionally it will restart, and it froze once, but no long term problems. I needed a phone for email while I am not at my laptop: POP mail works fine, and Mail for Exchange is installed by default; just set that up too and it works well. I was going to buy the E71, but I could only find it in white - not a good look imho. I think the E71 would have been fine, but I like the fact that I can switch between a phone pad or a keypad. I am getting used to the E75 keyboard, but it is hard to feel that your fingers are correctly over the keys - no touch typing. The battery performance is not as good as the E71; with heavy use I have to charge it every day or two.

Hi. I bought my e75 last last friday, almost 2 weeks ago.. All was good but the usb charging. It's not working.. When connecting the usb to a computer, it just asks for option to whether, mass storage, image transfer, and so on... I wasn't happy to still use its bulky charger. I went to this nokia branch and told me that there really isn't a usb charging for e75, "the product only says it has but the there really isn't". I was like-- what? So he's saying that nokia ads are untrue? Please help... What am i suppose to do?

I have no problem with USB charging, either from a computer or a USB charger. Great advance over my prior Nokia phones. You need to be sure you are using a five wire usb cable, if you are using the one from Nokia you should be good to go (most other cables are five wire but there are the occasional four wire version cables out there).

thanks for the reply, Fred. I'm actually using the usb from its box. It really frustrates me to have this phone without its usb charging...:-<*sigh*
