skipping data plan

Hey everyone,

I am looking at buying either an E61(i) or an E71, but want to make sure they are fully functional without having to have a data plan. I would like to simply use a wifi connection instead of the cellular data connection for data stuff like IM, e-mail, web browsing, google sync'ing, etc. I understand that I would only be able to do data related stuff when I am near a wifi access point, but that's not a big deal to me. So, does anyone know how well these phones work without having a data plan? Will what I am wanting to do work?

Both phones work perfectly without the data plan when only using wifi.
