Just a quick heads up to let you know, the Nokia Beta Labs team have released an update for the longest named app they have, "Nokia Messaging for Social Networks Beta". Ricky Cadden posted an update on twitter in reference to this name (see below), and I agree with The Symbian Guru on this one, Beta Labs should really consider changing the name of this great little feature packed application, which if done right, may attract more users. I believe that at the moment, not only is the name "Nokia Messaging for Social Networks Beta" confusing with the existing Nokia applications of the same name, but also kind of distracts from the potential, and purpose of the application itself. What about calling it by the same name as seen on the Booklet 3G? "Nokia Social Hub". Just my 2 cents. ![]() Anyway, back to the update, which now brings support for Nokia S40 devices, and also adds extra functionality to the already included twitter client too, which is a welcomed update indeed. I quite like the app but the latest version does not remember the login details from one session to the next...
Extremely annoying and puts me off using it.. Shame.. |

I found this on the beta labs website:
"Actually, our application did not save passwords on the device, this is one of our privacy policy requirements. The "remember me" option is to keep the username/email address and session cookies allowing the client to re-use existing session until it expires on the social networks. After a discussion with Facebook and Twitter, they recommended to remove this option since the client should always re-use the username/email address and session cookies until the user decides to logout from Facebook or Twitter. There should not have any user experience impacts on the removal of this "remember me" option, please let us know otherwise. " Something is clearly not working right tho because I have to re-login every single time.. |
