Higher capacity battery?

Is a higher capacity battery available for the N95?

If mine gets as much use as I hope, the battery life might be a problem, so having longer from a single charge, without carrying spare batteries would be good.

Yeah... I'm hoping for a solution soon. Because of the design of the N95, it seems it should be easy enough to make a "humpback" N95 like they used to do back in the day.

I must admit, the battery life is the one thing I do not like about the N95. I guess I've just got used to it though after having an N73 beforehand and a 6680 before that.

Yeah, I've got a 6682 right now... battery life never bothered me so much, because it uses the same battery that my last 3 or 4 Nokias had, so there were plenty of extras. Plus, I've got the Nokia LD-1W BT GPS, uses the same battery, and same charger- making it basically a standalone travel charger with a built-in GPS. With the 6682, I was NEVER concerned about battery power. I was actually really hoping that the N95 was going to have the same battery, even though it's an 850!

I asked this quastion from Nokia support and they just replied that there's no higher capacity battery available yet. They also promised to forward my feedback. Maybe if we'll keep asking it, they'll make one (if it's possible). The space for battery is fairly small in N95.

A "humpback" of sorts expanding the battery compartment shouldn't be too difficult for them to work out.

for the moment there hasnt been any reports of an extended battery suitable for the N95.

right now, all you can do is buy a second battery and carry it around.

Or the proporta USB battery/charger- that's a decent solution, IMO. I'm likely to grab one. Ten bucks more than an extra battery, and you don't have to shut the device off- resulting in another 10 minute cold start from the GPS, if needed.

I'll probably buy that 3500ma battery/charger; but later, after I get the phone, and only if the battery is really bad. Otherwise I got chargers in my car, at home (in every room except toilet) and at work.

Too true. I've got about ten chargers around my house, and two in the car (one for Nokia BT GPS and one for phone) thanks to the fact that almost every Nokia I've owned in the last decade has used the same battery or at least charger. Thankfully they didn't decide to use a different charger like they did with the N80! VBK23 and I were chatting about that earlier.
