Some photos from another member here, Zorrow, who had been sold a fake as genuine. He has agreed to have his photos posted here to show others what to watch out for on this particularly close cosmetically looking clone.
Also some images of the outer box which is used to pack the clone can be seen below.. Look closely at the font of NOKIA N95 of the front fascia. Also note the fonts, and menus, and icons used in the software, which is different to the genuine N95-1 handset. ![]() ![]() ![]() Make note of the square looking Flash LED below.. ![]() ![]() Outer packaging.. ![]() ![]() Supplied Mini to USB lead.. ![]() Thanks again to member zorrow for the photos.

Below are some more photos of clones, including the newly released N95-1 clone, which is identical to the original, with the only identification flaws to tell it apart are the symbols on the keys. Of course, once the phone is switched on, the operating software is a dead give away. This particular model is dual sim.
As you can see below, the latest clone of the N95-1 has the correct font on the fascia. ![]() ![]() ![]() Look at the symbols on the number keys below. Note on this photo, the N95 NOKIA is missing. ![]() The website i sourced these new photos sell these clones, and I have noticed, many of their photos of somewhat either photoshopped, or taken in such a way to hide certain flaws. The photo below shows the poor N95-2 clone, which has touch screen, the dead give away here are the symbols on the lower area of the screen.. Also note, the extra icons on the keys. ![]() ![]() ![]() The below photo shows the closer clone of the N95-2. Photoshopping is visible.. ![]() This photo is on their site, obvious a genuine handset, showing N-gage, but look at the handset in the box. Photoshopped? ![]() Here are some photos of other Nokia models which have been cloned.. N96 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Xpressmusic ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nokia Aeon ![]() As you can see from the sourced photos, they clearly state the website they are taken from. Please note, i do not encourage anyone to buy from such website, in fact, im dead against the website even selling this clones! The reason for me posting these images here, is to raise public awareness of these Chinese copies, in the hope that this information will help you tell the difference from a clone, and the real things, should you be in the market to by a new Nokia handset. More details, and photos will be added soon.

Apparently I've been had. However, it seems to be a nice "Nokia N95 8g." My question is twofold. First I cant get the phone to be recognized by my laptop. Is there help anywere? Second, why is there a "Asia-Nokia" website that looks like the real Nokia USA website? Are they stealing/copying that too? Isn't that illegal?

Firstly, sorry to hear you have purchased a cloned N95. I hope you manage to file a successful claim.
What exactly made you realise you had been duped? Start a new thread speed21 detailing this site you mention.

Thanks. Hopefully you have a little patience. Haven't done this before. How do I "post a new thread" as you direct? Plus a little more below:
I'm also truly confused about whether its a clone. It is recognized as an "MT6227" which, from what I read is a "china thing." I don't have a 'touchscreen' nor do I have 'symbols' on the lower part of the screen. I'm lost. If anyone can help at all. Thanks. If it's a clone fine (be nice to know). I'm more worried about getting it to be recognized by the computer. |
