Need help moderators & fellow users!!!

G'Day guys and girls from Australia!
(And no I don't have a kangaroo or koala as a pet!!!)

This is my virgin post on this awsome site, I have already benefited from having a cruise through the forums, thanks heaps to everyone that makes this site so informative and useful!

As you will see in my sig, I got my first N series Nokia TODAY!!! Woo it's awsome (except for it's crappy battery life)

The main point of this post is to get help on trying to

1. How do I install basic software on my phone?
I'm sorry, I can be pretty dense at times, if this was in Laymens terms with easy to follow step by step all the better! (Surely it's not as easy as installing/dragging into appropiate folder via Nokia PcSuit?) And I've also heard some programs need to be unzipped, can the Application that comes on the phone be used for this or is a better one recommended?

also

2. I am interested in getting videos from my PC to my N95, pretty much all of which won't play to due to (in computer terms) codecs. Can anyone recommend a easy to use program I can use to play mpeg, avi's etc etc files on my N95.

I am sure there is links somewhere on this site/forum to the 2 incredibly stupid newbie questions I have just asked!!! Any help is HUGELY appreciated.

Cheers guys!

1.Just send (copy) the installer file(.sis or .sisx) to the N95 8GB then run it.You will have to say continue. Then chose which memory toinstall whether onphone memory or mass memory.Than go to the Applications folder and run it.

2.Get VLC Player or GOM Player. Both these can play almost all files.

BTW-You just lost your Virginity!

You definitely should use the search function(see my sig), as what you have said the answers to your questions are already in the forum.

you can find free S60 video player like DivX here: Free Symbian S60 3rd Edition Software - Mobiles24.com

Thanks guys, I am at work right now but I will give the tips a crack when I get home.
Has anyone got a link to an app that plays ALL common video files?
Thanks GSi-R, I read the battery thread, being a brand new phone with "stock" bodykit (lol) no buttons are stuck in!!!
Are sis and sisx the recognised ".exe" files for this phone to install the programs?

I know it doesn't recognise .exe files.

Uhh which way is easier?
Installing once its on your phone or installing on the computer then transferring to the phone? Does anyone have the process for either way?
