Complete re-install of my N95 8GB
Hi there
Got my n95 from 3 the other day, began messing it with installs of apps like GoogleMap, TomTom and etc. I think i made a bit of a mess with the mass storage directory and i want to now restore it to factory default. Googling things as normal hasn't helped. I tried the hard and soft resets (Greenbutton, 3 and star) and *#7370# All do something but didn't actually format my mass storage, any ideas how to do this effectively? I dont want to brick my phone straight away...Thanks |

Mass storage being Memory card?
If so then try going Tools > Utilities > Memory > Options > Format Memory Card. That's how you do it on a N95-1 anyways. If you mean phone memory then I believe that a master reset does do the job, contrary to what you have said. Updating the phones firmware also formats the phone memory. |

A Master reset should restore your phone as though it has just come straight out of the box removing all applications etc.I think this is applicable with most S60 Smart phones.Hi and welcome.

I managed to reset my phone and format my mass storage. Now, i can't even reinstall the skype app on my phone. My phone is 3 btw.
It gives me a certificate errror and i'm going to try and go back to my restore. I'll end up removing all of the data manually. |
