Question N95 Changing Product Code Problem.

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Basically, about 12 months ago, i got an N95 and debranded it without issues.

I've just got an N95-2 and it's Vodafone branded, i want rid.

Downloaded NSS and it won't detect my phone? It also doesn't detect my old N95 so it's certainly a software issue somewhere, i've got PC Suite installed and also NSU, both of which detect the phone fine.

I'm using Windows Vista (tried compatability mode) and also tried it on my old laptop using Windows XP but again, the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Macmini

I've tried that, thanks.

Should mention that it's set to Virtual USB mode and i've tried reinstalling all of the required applications.

Common problem with Vista, and the latest version of PC Suite. The drivers of the new PC Suite conflict with the drivers for NSS. Try uninstalling the new version of PC Suite, and install the one that came with the handset on the DVD.

A quick search found these related threads..

I solved it by downloading the Nseries Suite from Nokia Nseries, which is version 6.83.

Works a treat :)

I never solved my problem, I had the same issue as yourself, and ended up having to use our other laptop which is running XP.

Nokia are aware of this problem with Vista, and said they will be releasing a new version of Nokia Software Updater soon.
