H@t Trick the vcf files are what the contact cards entries are (there the same as the vcs files, but for contacts) .

But that doesn't matter; if you can extract the vcs and vcf files using noki or whatever you should be good. Hook up you phone in mass storage mode/ data transfer mode, drag all the vcs and vcf files you want on your memory card. Now do the whole stafely remove hardware and disconnect your phone; goto tools\ file manager select your memory card and scroll down to the files, open a file and one of the options is to save it to your calender or contacts.
Hope that helps

(There also seems to be a nokia syncing plug-in for thunderbird (with I think can open both vcs and vcf files) so if you really have a tonne of the files you may want to try it first)

I prefer the old fashioned way of completely reinstalling everything manually. I flashed mine then sync'd to Outlook which brought over my contacts, calendar, notes, and tasks then started reloading everything. Gives me a warm fuzzy having a totally "fresh" install.

It worked on my Windows Vista. This is what i did to get it to work. Right click on NSU icon>>Properties>>Compatibility>>ticked the box where it says "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

I agree... I sync all my PIM data straight from Outlook... Installing apps has been a hell of alot easier since I discovers you could drag as many apps as you want at once to the PC Suite main window.

last time I only backed up my txt messages.

I just updated mine........Lost N-gage. Was working before the update. Camera is great.....Boot time: 2-3sec vs 9-10sec on firmware 12. Search4 is great. I think that you can download it from Nokia site without FW upgrade. Thak you for great posts guys. Definitely, Formating the memory card is a trick. Feels a little bit faster.......
