You will not be able to do the firmware update via bluetooth, and i wouldnt even suggest trying.
Does your phone connect and interact with PC Suite usually? Doing normal things like checking messages and installing apps?

Uninstall and then delete EVERY remnant of PC Suite.
Reboot your PC.
Reinstall the latest STANDARD (Not N-Series) PC Suite.
Reboot your PC.
Try connecting your phone again.

I google it again and found this
1. i would firstly recommend uninstalling all nokia apps &
running the nokia pc suite uninstall utility from nokia
site.

2. Once you have installed your preferred application, you
need to check wether Nokia Software Updater is also
installed as part of the pc suite. To do that we need to
go to add/remove programs in control panel.

3 We need to check for 3 items listed below in add/remove
programs.
a) Nokia Software Updater
b) Nokia Connectivity cable driver.
c) Nokia Flashing Cable Driver.

3. I) If all 3 exist then remove just b)Nokia Connectivity
Cable Driver and that should fix everything!
II) If only a) and b) exist then run software updater, it
will open and look for updates after which then will
start to download from internet.

4. When it picks up the required updates and asks to
agree with statement, click next after which software
updates will begin to install.

5. GO TO ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS AND UNINSTALL NOKIA
CONNECTIVITY CABLE DRIVER WHILE UPDATES ARE INSTALLING!!

6. Once updates all installed then it will ask you to
restart pc.

Where did you find that?
Sounds like a bit of a waste of time. Dont know why they'd make you go to the Nokia site to uninstall it.

I found the solution for N95 USB Parent Error.

1) After you have installed all of your required Nokia applications eg; PC Suite, Software Updater etc. Do not restart your computer yet.

2) Go to Add/Remove Programs and find Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and uninstall it.

3) Find Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 6.85.10.0 9 (Google it) and install that.

4) Restart your computer and plug in phone.

Alternatively you could uninstall PC Suite completely and install the latest Version 7, which seems to work flawlessly, incl. on Vista.

Easiest Fix - delete 1 file

delete wdf01000.sys from C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

On next connection, all drivers will be installed....

simple or what :)
