Ntlworld email on N95

Hi guys

New to this forum as my N95 only arrived yesterday. Quick question - I've got a POP3 Ntlworld email account which i use for home and work and i wanted to be able to access it on my phone. Is this possible and if so how?

Also if it is possible will i get charged for receiving and sending them. I'm on T-Mobile and signed up for the full web 'n' walk package which doesn't charge you extra for internet access.

Any help would be appreciated and i apologise if this has already been covered elsewhere.

Yes it is possible, I have two NTL pop3 accounts used on mine.

Just run the E-Mail Settings Wizzard, it asked for User name, password and Email address and everything else is auto set up for you.

You can either download "headers" or the "full email" if you do either over Wifi, won't cost a penny. You can download "headers" over GPRS network, and that data will come off your allowance from T Mobile, but as you have Web & Walk, it will come via that connection.

If you use full e-mail, as it says it downloads the full email, which uses more data, normally this charges more than "headers" but if you have unlimited Web & Walk, it makes no difference to you if its headers or full..

Hope this helps.

Check the outgoing mail settings and see what the access point is for sending the mail, and ensure it's the same as incoming.

Also, what error message are you getting when trying to send ? Is is just staying in the outbox, or returning an error message ?

The access point is T-Mobile Internet which is exactly the same as the incoming.

The test message i'm trying to send just stays in the outbox with queued underneath it. When i click on send it just asked to confirm the settings which i have done.

Security ports are set as off and the port is on default if that helps any further.

Hmm, I remember mine did that when I first set it up. Can't honestly remember what I did to correct it. All I can say is to remove the mailbox and try running the set-up again, and just double check all the info again, and overwrite it if possible.

My Outgoing server is set to " Always Ask" I would be 100% you're email & password are correct also.

Failing that, as I sid try removing it and re setting up via the wizzard.

Can you also try sending the E-mail over Wifi as opposed to T Mobile Web & Walk.

IIRC you can't send NTLworld email outside the NTLworld network, so I setup a Gmail account for my sending, with the reply address set as my NTLworld one.

What do you mean ? NTLworld emails out of NTL network ?

I have two NTLworld POP3 accounts, both I can send and recieve like any other pop3 account. To any e-mail address or providor.

Can you expand ?

I've sorted it and Matt is kinda right. I went onto the T-Mobile site and i had to change the SMTP to smtp.t-email.co.uk to enable outgoing messages. My username and password's are the same as my ntlworld account.

All working fine and dandy now.

Many Thanks.
