    dim the backlight?

Is it possible to dim the backlight anymore than it allows you in the personalize menu?

ie. is it possible to dim it more using a service menu or anything?

Not that I'm aware of. Why would you want to achieve this anyway?

To find your Nokia Firmware version, key *#0000#. The V##.#.### shown is your current Firmware! Please add these details with Nokia model to your profile. This information will help others help you. Thank you.!

Why do people want to turn the shutter sound off, or the orange light when filming?

Oh, agreed, it can be embarrassing when you're taking photos somewhere and someone overhears the noise. Best incident was when I was on a train going somewhere I saw a perfect potential shot of some fields; I took it forgetting my phone wasn't on silent and a bunch of chavs saw me and started s******ing.

I was, however, being sarcastic in my previous post ;-)

EDIT: Sni gg ering was the starred out word FYI.

I wanted to dim the backload loads for when I have to be in a dark place like the cinema; (and no I'm not one of those annoying people who *USE* their phone during the cinema but on the occasion you have to check the time or read a message the default brightness is horrible!

Only thing I can suggest is to install a black theme, and use that with lowest level of brightness in the settings ( for me it's just about seeable cant see anyone wanting it lower ? )
