Differences between 2 x N95 8GB !!

Hi

I have 2 N95 8GB.

One is on Orange contract, but has been debranded with firmware: v20.0.016

The other is branded as O2, but is unlocked and on firmware: v15.0.015

I've noticed the O2 version doesn't have the auto rotate. Also with my Orange 3G Sim in the O2 branded phone I get a 3G Icon with 'dotted' lines under.

Yet the same sim in the debranded Orange phone it just shows 3G.

Are both of these differences down to the firmware ?

Thanks

Do the 'dotted lines' look like they have an arrow head at each end?
If they do, that just means the phone has found an internet/data connection available.
And if the lines turn from dotted to solid it means the phone is connected to the mobile internet.

Yes they do..
Why does this only show on the old firmware ?

With the SIM in an E65 I just get 3G, yet soon as I move it to the N95 8GB I get 3G & the 2 lines !!

It's because on one you have the packet data connection setting set to 'when available' and the other to 'when needed'.

I have mine set to 'when needed' and that just shows the '3G'/ariel icon.

Thats all good but just because they are both on the same software doesn't mean you won't get those lines again.

You got those because of the connection settings.
