Take a flat head screwdriver and prize it out from the base only.

Yep, I concur. Flat head screwdriver, small is better, and carefully prise it out.

Sorry to ask, but is it a genuine N95 8GB?

yes, was purchased from Nokia's Online Shop.

Thanks guys, managed to get it out with a little tool from my PC toolkit Is this a common problem? I ask because I experienced exactly the same problem when I had my first N95 8GB.

It's Broke?

Did you know that your Nokia comes with a 2 year warranty? Did you know that Carphone Warehouse are Nokia Repair Centres?
Damage from normal use: wobbly slider, broken keys, quiet earpiece etc... will be repaired for free, and usually the same day if you take it to a big store!
