Some nice N95 8GB photos

I'd been meaning to take some photos of my N95 8GB since I got it but kept forgetting. Seeing the other thread with some photos in prompted me to get my arse in to gear so here they are. I didn't realise the forum would automatically resize them so you can either click the yellow bar to see them at the size I resized them or click the link to see the full size photo! Please bear in mind the full size photo is at least a few megabytes in size.

I tried to get all the little flecks of dust off the phone but when you're taking pictures this close the camera picks up even the tiniest spec. Btw, I only put my name on them as someone's tried nabbing photos I've taken for their own site before without asking and that irks me a bit

really nice photos. These might actually be a great help also for the how to spot a fake thread. These give an awesome up close hi-res example of a real N95 to use as a comparison to anyone looking to buy one.

Also nice job on covering up your serial number and such even if this wasn't on purpose

Was thinking the very same fella, on both counts, the clones, and the sim card holder coving the imei :)

Thanks for the compliments guys. The photos were taken with a Canon EOS 30D and a Canon EFS 17-85mm lens at F7.1 & ISO 250. The last four photos were taken with a Sigma 150mm F2.8 lens at F2.8 & ISO 250 on the same camera body. I had my flash fitted but didn't end up using it and instead relied on the natural light in the conservatory. They're not perfect but I think they came out okay!

Blocking out the IMEI with the sim-card holder was actually intentional (believe it or not..). I was thinking I'd have to blur those details out but figured that would ruin the look of the photo. I tinkered about with different angles with the card holder upright and lo, it covered up the numbers well enough!

I've been disabled for a number of years which has so far ruled out trying to make a move in to professional photography; I've done a few bits of paid work but with being house-bound currently my options are a little bit limited! That is a Red Arrows "Hawk" jet, as far as I recall the Gnat was retired from the display a while ago but I could be mistaken!

The photo I use for my background is the following one. The Red Arrows put on an unexpected display just a couple of miles from our house and I was fortunate enough to be well enough at the time to get down there. Sadly my sensor needed cleaning and I didn't have time to sort it out before shooting, hence the flecks of dust.

EDIT: I've just uploaded the dust-free version of the photo. This one and the next were taken with a Canon EOS 20D and a Sigma 50-500mm lens.


It makes a really nice background as it works well in both portrait and landscape. If anyone wants to use it feel free.

There's also this photo that's had the dust-free treatment, though I'm not sure how well it works as a background as I haven't tried it:



I've got quite a few more pics of the Red Arrows so I could post them up here if there's a relevant section to do so...

I love the way your photos seperate the different looking textures of your phone.
It has made me think about getting an N95 8GB at upgrade time.
