Hi, I download films alot, convert them to mp4 for psp and put them on my N95 8GB :D I was wondering, what is the best format to convert to so that the picture quality when I hook it up to my TV is good?
At the moment its OK quality, but would like to know if I can make it better :D Many thanks, Rick. |

Only the resolution of the phone itself is displayed on the screen so it can not get much better.

Hi Rick,
Last time I went on vacation I converted a bunch of movies for TV out on my n95. I started out with divx/xvid files and used Super to convert them for the N95. In Super I used these options for tv out: Container: mp4 Video codec: Xvid Audio Codec: mp3 I used a resolution of 640x360 for 16:9 movies, 640x480 would work for a 4:3, or you can just check the resolution of your original file for other ideas, but keep it below 640x480 as that's the output that real player will send to your tv. I also kept the frame rate at the original rate. As long as you are using Real Player with a compatible video format, you can send 640x480 video to your TV. For the XVID video codec, I used a bitrate of 1000 kbps and in Super the additional options I used were "hi quality", "top quality" (which reduces the overall size of the video), and 48k audio. I suspect that "top quality" would allow a higher video bitrate without making the file too big, I was getting movies that were 250-400 megs. For the audio I used 128 kbps and a sample rate of 48kHz. You can batch encode your videos with Super too, so you can just line up a few and run the computer overnight. |

Dude, break out the mirror. When you quoted N95Rick you made the link copy and paste-able.
