Just got N95 8gb, few questions

Im on contract with o2 nd dont know how to check how many minutes and that ive used but that another thing

so when i use the GPS am i being charged?

Also when it picks up Wireless LAN's and i use them do i get charged? I pick up one in my house called linksys.

no you wont be charged for using the gps service unless you are downloading data or opt to pay for the turn by turn navigation

no you wont be charged for using wifi, if the little wifi symbol(four little squares) has a padlock on it you will need to WEP key to use that connection though.

on the minutes thing, id tell you but im currently drying my phone out from a little trip it had to the bath earlier

downloading data? i just used it in the car. it was moving like so i dunno. does that mean i downloaded data? it picked me up alrite like. saved my life in a way haha didnt have a clue where i was

Well, for data, it usually says how many Kbs you have used on the screen (I'm assuming that you are using Nokia Maps). If there is none, then you are safe.

If you wanna make sure that no data is used, you could always ask your provider to block data usage.

yes you will, what tariff are you on? to get the most out of your phone it would be worth getting the o2 web max bolt on for 7 quid per month. a lot of the n95's features will utilize the internet for one thing or another

on o2 if you send a blank txt to 21202 you get a txt back tellin you how many mins and txts you have left will also tell you how much data you have used

You could always go to settings and choose whether you want your phone to use Data or not. I find that you don't really need data that much for GPS unless you want live updates on traffic, gas prices, etc. (only available on some areas) or the statellite image of the area that you are travelling on.

Ayiz is correct.
Just send a blank text from your N95 to 21202, and they will immediately text you back telling how many texts and minutes remain on your monthly allowance. Very handy feature!
