Conversation (SMS)
On my Palm phone I had threaded SMS messages, so I was pleased to find "Conversation" for the N95. However, I have found two things with Conversation that bother me and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions (or a workaround).
First, when entering a reply in "regular" messaging and you hit a key (like the media browser key), the partial message is stored in "Drafts". If this happens to me in "Conversation", when I come BACK to the program, what I've already typed is gone. With my fat fingers this is quite a problem. Second, I see the first line of each message in a thread, but if I highlight a message and press "Select" I go back to the standby screen instead of getting the full text of the message, which makes NO sense to me. Does this work the same way for everyone? It is highly inconvenient because if you hit one to many "Selects", you end up outside the program. Any input appreciated. Thanks, Gary Walborn (Wally) |

the thing is, Nokia Conversation is still in beta. lets hope they'll iron out the bugs in the final release, should it ever come out that is.

No updates since Jan '08 makes it seem unlikely really

I coudn't reproduce your problems on my phone.
When I select the message with partial text displayed in main window and press center button, it dispays the full message. If I type the message and then hit multimedia menu and then go back to the program, my typing is still there. When I installed the app, I had to first install nokia contacts services support package, which is necessary for the app to work. |

is there a reason why Conversation is under contact lists and not under messages? I think it would make sense to be under the main messages category instead of going to your address book and hitting the right button? maybe its just me?

Problem solved.... I removed "Conversation" and re-installed it. Now it works correctly (showing the full text of a message when you select it). Previously, the program would exit every time I tried to do this. Very strange.....
